1. Vulcanization, chlorination, bromination

The silver-plated layer on the LED bracket will generate silver sulfide when it touches sulfur-containing gas, while touching acidic nitrogen-containing chlorine and bromine gas will generate light-sensitive silver halide, which will cause the light source to blacken and fail. Light source sulfur/chlorine/bromination may occur in every link of the production, storage, aging, and use of LED light sources and lamps.

2. Oxidation

In the environment of high temperature and high humidity, silver will easily react with oxygen and produce black silver oxide. After Xinqin Lighting confirms that the blackening of the light source is caused by the oxidation of the silver-plated layer, it will advise customers to further check the air tightness of the light source and lamps to eliminate the path of moisture penetration.

3. Carbonization

Unreasonable heat dissipation planning of LED lamps, low thermal conductivity of heat dissipation materials, unreasonable power supply planning, and too many defects in reflow soldering will also cause carbonization of the light source. Therefore, when Xinqin Lighting starts to determine that the cause of the blackening of the light source is carbonization, it will advise customers to follow the path of LED light source or lamp failure analysis, and analyze the light source/lamp to find out the defect or the source of high thermal resistance.

4. Chemical incompatibility

The blackening of the LED light source may also be caused by chemical pollution. This blackening phenomenon often occurs in sealed lamps with little or no air activity. When Xinqin Lighting determines that the blackening of the light source is caused by a chemical compatibility problem, it will advise customers to check the chemical incompatibility of the materials used in the lamps to find out the materials that are incompatible with the light source. Frequently encountered problems. However, the blackening of the light source is only a manifestation. Reasons such as vulcanization, chlorination, bromination, oxidation, carbonization and chemical incompatibility will cause the blackening of the LED light source.
